We are announcing a rescheduling of our much-anticipated hard fork, initially set for July 2024. This decision highlights our dedication to providing a secure, compliant, and feature-rich platform. Our adjusted timeline now aims for August 2024. The new specifications and features of the hard fork will include the following:

Prioritizing Security and Compliance

To support various use cases like Security Token Offerings (STOs), we are integrating new compliance-related features into the mainnet. This includes functionalities such as contract whitelists and blacklists, designed to meet stringent regulatory requirements and enhance overall security.

Integrating Composable Transactions

One of the most exciting features we are adding is support for composable transactions. This enhancement, detailed in our Composable Transactions documentation, enables more intelligent blockchain use cases, including those leveraging machine learning(ML). Users will be able to call contracts using plain text, simplifying interactions. This transparency in on-chain smart contract usage and management will significantly streamline operations and improve usability.

Text-Based Smart Contract Deployment

We are also introducing a new feature for deploying smart contracts using plain text, as outlined in our GitHub pull request. By managing smart contract source code directly on-chain, we can better support intelligent blockchain use cases like those involving ML. This approach guarantees the generation of deterministic bytecode, thereby enhancing security. On-chain management of smart contract source code ensures transparency and reliability, which are crucial for advanced blockchain applications.

Developing On-Chain ML Models

Our team is developing ML models that can be used directly on our mainnet alongside smart contracts. Unlike large language models like ChatGPT, which require substantial resources and are not specifically designed for blockchain integration, we are benchmarking smaller models like Microsoft’s Phi-3. These models are optimized for on-chain use, ensuring they are efficient and suitable for enterprise and mainnet applications. This research aims to enable seamless integration of intelligent features within our blockchain environment. We will provide more details about these ML models soon, as they will play a crucial role in enhancing the Aergo platform.

Looking Ahead

While the delay may be disappointing, we will provide regular updates as we progress toward the new timeline. We focus on delivering a blockchain platform with the highest performance and security standards.

We appreciate your understanding and continued support as we work diligently to bring these significant enhancements to life. Stay tuned for more updates, and thank you for being a vital part of our community.
