As we continue to refine and enhance the Aergo network, we want to update our community on the revised timeline for the upcoming V4 hard fork. This adjustment allows us to ensure full compatibility with our current enterprise customers and their nodes and address a few minor issues identified during testing.
Why the Change?
- Enterprise Node/Network Compatibility: Our enterprise customers play a crucial role in the Aergo ecosystem, and it’s vital that their nodes integrate seamlessly with the upcoming hard fork. We’re taking additional time to thoroughly test and align the upgrade with their specific requirements to ensure this.
- Minor Issues Identified: During the final stages of testing, a few minor issues were identified that need to be addressed. While these issues do not impact the hard fork’s core functionality, resolving them now will prevent potential disruptions and ensure a smooth transition for all participants.
So far, we’ve completed approximately 95% of our Aergo V4 test scripts, but a few tests are still pending to ensure everything functions as expected. This means we will not meet our previously communicated mainnet hard fork target date of the end of August.
New Timeline
- Current Phase: Ongoing Testing and Final Optimizations with 95% of the Work Completed
- Testnet Launch: Mid-September
- Mainnet Hard Fork: End of September
We will continue working with key participants, including node operators, exchanges, and other partners, to ensure all necessary preparations are completed ahead of the new timeline. This includes additional testing, further optimization, and ensuring the community is fully prepared for the transition.
While delays can be challenging, this additional time is essential to ensure the hard fork meets the high standards our clients and community expect. We appreciate your understanding and continued support as we work to deliver a more robust, more reliable Aergo network.
Stay tuned for more updates!
